I am going to invite you to follow along on my recent European adventure. I was invited to Poland by an elite group for travel agents to explore a new country and meet with exclusive suppliers in the travel industry for Europe. The conference took place in Poznan, Poland with an extension option to Lodz (wooge) and Warsaw. This was such an honor to be accepted into this forum and afforded such an experience! So, Before the convention, my friend and I decided to explore Frankfurt, Germany for a few nights and this was our experience in a nutshell.
The first day we landed in Frankfurt and we had such jet lag due to a screaming baby the WHOLE ten-hour flight from Atlanta, GA. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a private transfer from the airport to our hotel, NC Collection Frankfurt City. The location was amazing and the Mercedez transfer was private and very nice after a long 10-hour flight. Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived, so we both agreed we would pay the extra $50 to get a room early. All we wanted was SLEEP!!
After a long nap, we decided to venture out! We found Aldi, (my fave grocery store ever), McDonalds, H&M, and all the stores we were familiar with. There was a huge outdoor mall area and it was covered with people. It was THE place to be! We loved walking around there every night! We kept walking and eventually got to the ‘Old Town’ area where it looked just like a picture book German ad. SO cute and quaint. We decided to eat local cuisine that night so we had schnitzel and apple cider. The food was delicious and the people were super friendly!
The next day we went on a River Cruise/Wine Tasting down the Rhine River!! We went to several picturesque little towns and discovered the beauty of river cruising! It was a great experience! We booked the tour with a supplier I use for my clients and was very satisfied with the whole itinerary. The next day we went to Heidelberg, Germany with the same tour company. It was such a charming town on the river and there is a Palace to tour, it was amazing. The last day we decided to just hang around and explore the city with the locals. We found an amazing local German pub where we ate every night. Pork Knuckle, schnitzel, sausage, oh MY!…When in Germany, Right? Ask me about our Subway fiasco adventure when you see me! Too funny to type HAHA…..Next stop? Poznan, Poland!!
