The Vice President of Disney Springs announced it will reopen on May 20. Matt Simon said the shopping, restaurant, and entertainment complex will open in phases. In the first phase, stores and restaurants that are owned by third parties will start reopening. Disney is making several operational changes with the health of guests and cast members as a top priority. Simon says some of these enhanced safety measures will be increased cleaning procedures, limited-contact guest services, additional training for cast members, and masks for cast members and guests. He said Disney Springs will have limits on capacity, parking, and operating hours for phase one. Additional procedures may be announced closer to the opening date. The rest of Walt Disney World Resort remains closed as well as Disneyland. Shanghai Disneyland is the first park to announce reopening. It too will have a phased reopening starting on May 11. Disney is working closely with government officials and health authorities as well as the US Travel Association to formulate the safest way to reopen it’s parks.
