Universal’s Mardi Gras celebration is underway bringing a little bit of The Big Easy to Orlando Florida. With the Universal parks having so much to offer and this amazing celebration included in your park ticket it is a MUST DO event! The Mardi Gras Celebration runs from February 9th to April 4th, 2019.
The Mardi Gras fun begins around 4 pm at Universal Studios when stilt walkers, dressed up performers, live bands and all the delicious Cajun food fill the streets of Universal Studios. It’s a lively party with exciting music and the smell of delicious beignets and gumbo fill the streets and you are transported to New Orleans.

Purchase a “Tasting Lanyard” allowing you to try either 5 or 10 food items from the French Quarter food tents around the parks, with po’boys, jambalaya, andouille sausages, Etouffee, and Kind Cake Believe me, you’ll want to try them all! Find one of the many performers in their elaborate costumes walking the streets, it’s a great photo op and you may even get some beads!

Once it begins to get dark the parade will begin and beautiful, elaborate floats will fill the streets for one of my favorite parades in Orlando. It wouldn't be Mardi Gras without throwing beads……. That's right BEADS !!!! Thousands of beads are thrown at each parade and if you're lucky you may get a great spot where you can catch a TON of them. This parade is one that everyone loves from kids to adults and its great fun for the whole family!

With the parade, beads, Cajun food and specialty drinks, this event is truly a fun party for the whole family but it gets even better! On select Saturdays and Sundays join a free concert with a different performer each day.The performers include Pitbull, Ziggy Marley, Gavin DeGraw, Sean Paul, Macklemore and many more. Again this amazing event is included in your regular park ticket!
